A handful of City youngsters have been called up for international duty for their respective countries ahead of October’s fixtures.

From our Elite Development Squad and Under-18s a handful of exciting talent will spend the next 10-14 days with their respective national teams.

Both squads head into the international break on fine form with Ben Wilkinson’s EDS top of the Premier League 2 table and Oliver Reiss’s Under-18s are on a four-game winning run in all competitions.

Now, players will travel to international camps across Europe. Here is a breakdown of all our Academy players on international duty…

For England’s Under-21s squad that will take on Ukraine and Azerbaijan in this month’s EURO 2025 qualifiers, James McAtee and Callum Doyle, who is on loan at Norwich City, have been selected for Ben Futcher’s squad. Josh Wilson-Esbrand is on standby.

In the group below, Nico O’Reilly, Jacob Wright and Max Alleyne have all been selected for England’s U20 Elite League squad. They will take on Italy on 10 October and Czechia on 14 October. Defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is also on standby.

Stephen Mfuni and Joel Ndala, who is on loan at PSV, will represent England Under-19s in a trio of friendly fixtures. They face Portugal on 9 October, Netherlands on 12 October and France on 15 October.

Matty Warhurst, Matty Henderson-Hall, Lakyle Samuel and Jack Wint are all on standby for the England Under-19s squad.

England’s Under-18s have a tournament in Marbella with Oliver Whatmuff selected. They face Sweden (11 October) and either Netherlands or Ukraine (14 October). Leke Drake and Luca Fletcher on standby for the games against Sweden and Netherlands.

EDS midfielder Michael Okeke has been called up to Hungary’s Under-21 side. They will face Malta on 10 October and Belgium on 15 October in their EURO U21 qualifiers.

Oliver Tevenan and Jayden Lienou are on standby for the Republic of Ireland Under-19s and Wales Under-17s.

Under-18s captain Rhys Thomas has received a call-up to represent Wales Under-19s in their double header friendlies against Italy on 10 and 13 October.
