Andrée Jeglertz says City’s eagerness to keep improving stands us in good stead heading into the second half of the season.
The Blues booked a spot in the League Cup semi-finals against Chelsea at the Joie Stadium with a comfortable 5-1 win at West Ham United, extending our unbeaten run to 14 matches as a result.
We also sign off for 2025 at the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table, winning our last ten in the process.
Jeglertz is delighted with how his players have reacted to subtle changes on and off the pitch by his coaching team and believes that mentality to constantly ask more could set us up for a special 2026.
He said: “I think when you start in August and you ask how you want the season to be, it’s difficult to predict.
“In the long haul there’s lots of things, me coming in, we’re changing couple of things in the game but also how we’re training.
“With that said, I think we’ve come quite far and I’m very pleased with that.
“The most important thing for me though is that I can see the players are eager to get better, they enjoy training sessions and being together, and if we have that and the quality we have, I think I’m looking forward to spring.”

Goals from Kerolin, Lauren Hemp, Grace Clinton, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Laura Coombs set the seal on a dominant display in East London, with City racing into a 2-0 lead inside eight minutes.
The hosts responded well though and, after halving the deficit through Riko Ueki, made life difficult for City until Clinton added a third on the stroke of half-time.
And Jeglertz was impressed by how his players reacted to that setback and shifted the momentum back in our favour.

He added: “I think that we showed again that the mentality of winning these games is great in the team.
“Even though we started the game great, we had a bit of a set back first half but second half we dominated totally and scored some great goals.
“Getting playing time for lots of players and those coming in bringing lots to the team, it says a lot about the structure of the group also.
“They’re tight together and we have the foundations for performance.”
