FC Bayern continues to seek reinforcements for its defense—and appears to be targeting a German national team player.
Yann Bisseck of Inter Milan is high on the club’s radar, and initial contact with the Italians is said to have already been made.
As reported by BILD soccer editor Christian Falk, the Munich club has approached Inter to explore a possible transfer. According to the report, FC Bayern initially wanted to find out what price the Milan club is asking for the 25-year-old center back.
What was previously just casual interest has thus turned into a concrete step. However, an agreement or even an offer is not yet on the table—so far, the discussions have focused solely on the general terms. Most recently, a transfer fee of around 40 million euros was reported for the German national team player, who has played only one international match.
Two factors could help the Munich club in potential negotiations: Bisseck is said to have opened the door to a transfer himself. In addition, according to the report, Inter is in need of transfer revenue. Both factors therefore play into Bayern’s hands.

The move stems from the clear policy at Säbener Straße. Falk points to the Munich club’s “clear preference” to “rely on German players whenever possible.” Bisseck thus fits the profile the club has been prioritizing recently.
With Nathaniel Brown, Bayern has its sights set on another German national team player who, unlike Bisseck, is currently even on the World Cup roster.
From Munich’s perspective, however, signing the Inter center back remains contingent on one condition: a defensive player would first have to leave the club. Minjae Kim is considered the top candidate for a sale. Hiroki Ito is also likely to leave FC Bayern if a suitable offer comes along.
How quickly this situation develops will therefore also depend on who leaves the club. Only once the roster has been thinned out is a serious push for Bisseck likely to follow.
