AC Milan spent big money on a striker in January, but there is a possibility that they look to replicate their spending in the summer too.

Despite adding Santiago Gimenez to the squad in the mid-season mercato, reports suggested that Milan were also considering the addition of Lorenzo Lucca with Sergio Conceicao wanting to try a 4-4-2 system.

However, a move for the Italian was not possible, and Joao Felix was instead brought to the club.

Discussions have already begun internally about the summer, and there have been probes about Felix’s future already, but the idea of Lucca is still present at Casa Milan it seems. According to Calciomercato.com, there will be an ‘all Italian auction’ for the Udinese star at the next opportunity.

The Rossoneri, despite adding Gimenez, are still an interested party, but they have fallen slightly in the rankings due to the Mexican’s arrival – though, this could also be linked to the idea of a permanent Felix addition.

Napoli and Roma are also fighting for the striker’s signature, and the report suggests that they are ahead in the proceedings.

It seems very likely that Lucca will move at the end of this season after he accepted Udinese’s request to see out the year, and history tells us that they will only part at the right time for the right fee – which is reported to be around €30 million.
