Federico Chiesa will head back to Italy this summer, and AC Milan are once again interested in the winger. However, they are not the leading chaser.
Last summer, there were suggestions that Milan were looking to make a move for Chiesa, with the forward falling out of favour with Massimiliano Allegri. However, a move was never made with Liverpool instead swooping in.
Now, 12 months on, it appears the winger will be back on the market, with his time in Merseyside coming to an end. The Italian has never been favoured by Arne Slot, and reports have suggested that he has been homesick, making a return rather likely.
So, the Rossoneri are once again making considerations about the feasibility of a move, but it seems that they must battle for his signature.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Diavolo sit third in the proceedings for the former Juventus man, with Inter and Napoli both ahead. Beppe Marotta holds him in high esteem, and a place will open on their front line this summer. Whilst Antonio Conte heavily appreciates the talent, though his future is uncertain.
Milan hold an interest due to the issue of Samuele Chukwueze’s future, and if the Nigerian leaves, a move could be attempted. It is also worth noting that Roma hold an interest, and the €25 million price tag could be considered if the Alexis Saelemakers terms are favourable.
In all cases, though, his €7.5 million salary would have to be reduced if a move back to Italy is on the cards.
