Back in 2023, Nnamdi Collins left Borussia Dortmund's youth ranks to join Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal reportedly worth €1 million.

After adapting to life at Eintracht, Collins has made his breakthrough into professional football this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions.

The versatile defender was rewarded with a call-up to the Germany Under-21 squad in November, and it was recently reported that he's on the radar of Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann.

All in all, Collins has a lot to be pleased about, and in an interview with Sky Germany, he reflected on why things have gone so well for him since joining Eintracht.

"I mainly spent my youth years at BVB and I can only say that my youth years were the best time of my young career. I didn't get too involved in the professional game at BVB," said Collins, who recently extended his contract with Eintracht until 2030.

"At Eintracht I simply notice the willingness to help people, the positive atmosphere and the calmness. I'm a player who likes to help and support each other and, above all, not lose the fun. Of course there has to be a certain amount of competition, otherwise we wouldn't all be professional footballers, but you just have to have a certain relaxed attitude so that you don't lose the fun.

“We all started playing football because we enjoyed it. Of course, football is not all fun, but you have to keep the fun in it. Here at Eintracht I have that relaxed attitude, that fun. It's simply fun to train. At BVB, I had more of a feeling of insecurity in training and that's a huge difference for me today.”
