‘Complete nonsense’ – Marseille shut down Neymar rumours | OneFootball

Reports from South America had briefly linked Neymar (33) with a surprise return to Ligue 1 via Olympique de Marseille, but club sources have quickly and firmly dismissed the speculation.

According to TyC Sports, the former PSG forward was considering leaving Santos, with Marseille named as a potential destination. The Brazilian international has struggled to re-adapt since returning to his boyhood club in January, amid fitness issues, off-field criticism, and a recent altercation with a fan.

However, the Ligue 1 club has denied any approach. A senior Marseille source told Le Parisien that the rumour is “complete nonsense”.

Instead, OM are pushing to complete a deal for another Brazilian forward: Igor Paixão (25), currently at Feyenoord, is expected to arrive before the end of the week. The Brazilian is set to arrive alongside a return for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (36). GFFN | George Boxall
