Douglas Luiz has set his sights on a return to the Premier League just one year he left Aston Villa to join Juventus, but reports in Italy suggest that there are growing concerns that the saga will go on right until the end of the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old, who joined Juventus in a €50m deal from Aston Villa last summer, failed to match the expectations that came with his price tag, and ultimately made just 19 appearances in Serie A last season, only three of which were starts.
The Brazilian also failed to report for the first few days of Juventus’s pre-season training camp this summer, an incident for which he has since apologised.

Despite his underwhelming season and his unauthorised absence from training this summer, there has still been plenty of interest in the former Aston Villa star.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nottingham Forest, Everton and West Ham have all made enquiries regarding the Brazilian this summer. Previous reports claimed that Fulham and newly-promoted Leeds United were also among the interested parties.
However, as things stand, Douglas Luiz has not yet expressed his intentions to Juventus, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Pink Paper adds that there is now a risk that the Douglas Luiz saga stretches on until the very end of the summer transfer window, which could cause issues for the Bianconeri and their attempts to find a replacement.
Wednesday’s reports indicate that Juventus are still interested in the signing of Morten Hjulmand from Sporting CP, but with a reported €40m price tag, a Bianconeri bid depends on Douglas Luiz departing first.
Two other Danes are on Juventus’s watchlist this summer, namely Brighton’s Matt O’Riley and Marseille’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Sofyan Amrabat and Yves Bissouma have also been mentioned as possible options.
