Manchester City welcome Bournemouth to the Etihad Stadium in their final home match of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Pep Guardiola and his players will simply be hoping to find the back of the net as a mere improvement from their last two outings, having been held to a 0-0 draw on the road at Southampton in the most recent Premier League encounter involving the Blues.

That hugely underwhelming showing on the south coast was then followed up by a 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup Final, as Manchester City failed to break through a resolute Crystal Palace line after they established the lead against the run of play thanks to Eberechi Eze.

Many will see Tuesday night’s meeting with Bournemouth as a must-win encounter in the chase for UEFA Champions League football via a top-five finish, with four points required from the last two games which culminate in a visit to Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

As for the recent form of Andoni Iraola’s side, they have been largely hit and miss lately, with an impressive victory away to Arsenal matched by home defeats to Aston Villa and Ipswich Town over the last few weeks.

Manchester City have just one player restricted to the sidelines at present with John Stones continuing his recovery from a long-standing issue, whilst there were doubts over Mateo Kovacic’s availability having been left out of the weekend’s FA Cup Final.
