With just under an hour to go until kick-off, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has announced his starting eleven to take on reigning UEFA Europa League champions Tottenham at the Allianz Arena, Munich.
Last time out, the Bavarians snatched a 2-1 win over Ligue 1 side Lyon courtesy of a brace scored by Michael Olise. Meanwhile, Tottenham have just returned from Hong Kong and Korea where they enjoyed a 1-0 triumph against Arsenal before a 1-1 stalemate with Newcastle.
This evening, Bayern line out as follows with Manuel Neuer between the posts and a back-four comprised of Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Josip Stanisic. Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka form the double pivot behind Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise and Luis Díaz, with Harry Kane leading the line.
Spurs line up under new head coach Thomas Frank with Guglielmo Vicario in goals while Cristian Romero skippers the London club for the game. Ex-Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven joins him in defence while Bayern loanee João Palhinha starts in midfield. Richarlison leads the line.
On the head-to-head front, the Bundesliga champions are unbeaten against Tottenham in their last 4 games. Those results include 3-2, 2-1, 3-1, and 7-2 which came in both friendlies and UEFA Champions League ties. Spurs last defeated the Bavarians on penalties during the 2019 Audi Cup final.
