Copa del Rey semi-finals, Atlético meet Barcelona as Athletic draw Real Sociedad | OneFootball

The Copa del Rey semi-final draw has paired Atlético with Barcelona and set up a Basque derby between Athletic and Real Sociedad.

As reported by as.com, the RFEF conducted the first unseeded round, the only stage played over two legs, with first legs on 11 February and returns on 4 March. Winners book a place in the 18 or 19 April final and a Supercopa spot. Between them the four clubs have 68 Copa del Rey titles.

Atlético host the opening leg against Barcelona at the Metropolitano, with the tie concluding at Camp Nou.

Barcelona, the holders and still alive in all competitions, face their first same-division opponent of this cup run after seeing off Albacete, who had knocked out Real Madrid. Atlético underlined their form in the quarters with a 0-5 win at Betis featuring new signing Lookman.

The other tie brings Athletic against their fiercest rivals. Real Sociedad are unbeaten since Matarazzo took charge. The first leg is at San Mamés, the return at Anoeta, a first semi meeting for 49 years, and their recent LaLiga meeting finished 1-1.
