Copa Libertadores 2026 pots confirmed, Boca the only Argentine top seed | OneFootball

CONMEBOL confirmed the pots for the 2026 Copa Libertadores group-stage draw, with 46 of the 47 participants already set.

Boca are the only Argentine club among the top seeds, taking a place in Pot 1 of the competition.

Argentina’s other representatives are spread across the draw. Estudiantes de La Plata and Lanús are in Pot 2, Rosario Central are in Pot 3, and Independiente Rivadavia and Platense are in Pot 4.

Pot 1 features Boca alongside Flamengo, Palmeiras and Fluminense of Brazil, Peñarol and Nacional of Uruguay, and Ecuadorian duo Liga de Quito and Independiente del Valle, ensuring Boca avoid those heavyweights in the group stage.

Pot 2, which includes Estudiantes and Lanús, also contains Corinthians, Cruzeiro and Cerro Porteño, suggesting potentially demanding groups.

Pot 3 has Rosario Central with Junior of Colombia, Universidad Católica of Chile and Independiente Santa Fe. Pot 4 includes Platense, Independiente Rivadavia and four clubs advancing from the preliminary rounds.

Argentinos Juniors will begin in Phase 2 of qualifying. If they beat Barcelona of Ecuador and then progress through Phase 3, they will reach the group stage and join Pot 4, completing Argentina’s contingent.
