At 21:00 CET on Wednesday 3 December, Inter host Venezia at San Siro in their Coppa Italia round of 16 tie. The Nerazzurri, who are on the right-hand side of the bracket, take on Giovanni Stroppa's men, who beat Hellas Verona on penalties in the last round.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The two sides have met in the cup on two occasions, with the Nerazzurri winning both by a 1-0 scoreline.

The first game was on 21 June 1959, when the Nerazzurri, after having beaten Lazio in the quarters, advanced all the way to the final thanks to a Mario Corso goal.

For the second game, we need to go back 30 years, to August 1995. That game was one of the first in which we got to witness the power of Roberto Carlos, who decided the game with his second goal in an Inter shirt - an unstoppable left-footed shot into the top corner.

OPPONENTS | VENEZIA

Venezia reached the round of 16 after hitting four past Mantova in the first round, thanks to braces from Doumbia and John Yeboah, and the victory on penalties over Hellas Verona in the second.

Under the guidance of Giovanni Stroppa since 2025, the Lagunari are currently fifth on 25 points in Serie B, with a record of seven wins, four draws, and three defeats. They have conceded 25 goals and conceded 12. The 3-5-2 system is a go-to for the Arancioneroverdi, who come into the game off the back of three straight victories, against Sampdoria, Padova and Mantova.

With a brace against Mantova last time out, Andrea Adorente now has six goals for the club in all competitions this season. No Venezia player has scored more than him in competitive football in 2025/26 (level with Yeboah).

Inter have won 12 of their last 15 games against the Lagunari in all competitions (D1, L2), including each of the last two without conceding a single goal. Venezia have only won once against Inter away from home in all competitions (D2, L13): a 4-1 win in Serie A on 25 April 1943. They have lost on each of their last seven trips to Milano to take on the Nerazzurri, with an aggregate scoreline of 18-5 in Inter's favour. The two most recent meetings between the two sides were in Serie A last season, which were decided by Lautaro in the first game and Darmian in the reverse fixture.
