Corinthians academy gem extends Zenit contract until mid-2030

This Tuesday (27th), the forward Pedrinho, 19 years old, who emerged from Corinthians' youth academy, had his contract renewal with Zenit, Russia, officially extended until the end of the 2029/2030 season. Since January 2024 at the Russian club, he has scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 76 matches. Additionally, he has won three titles: Russian Championship (2023/2024), Russian Cup (2023/2024), and Russian Super Cup (2024).

The 2025/2026 season is where the athlete has had his longest streak since joining Zenit. In total, the number 20 started among the starters in 17 of the 18 matches of the Russian team in the national championship, scoring two goals and providing two assists. The young player also stands out in statistics, being the runner-up in successful dribbles (22), big chances created (5), and key passes (25).

In total, there are 20 games this season, with two goals and three assists. His last official match for Zenit took place in December, before the winter break of the Russian Championship. Since then, the winger has been participating in friendly matches in preparation for the resumption of the season in Russia, which is scheduled for February.

Currently, Zenit is the runner-up in the local league with 39 points (11 wins, six draws, and one loss – 34 goals scored and 12 conceded), one point behind Krasnodar, and has been undefeated for 14 matches – the last defeat was in August 2025. One of the main revelations from Corinthians' youth academy in recent years, Pedrinho was also a key player in the Brazilian U-20 National Team's victories in the South American Championships of 2023 and 2025.

The winger was sold by Corinthians in mid-2023, during the management of then-president Duílio Monteiro Alves, for nine million euros (R$ 46 million) and initially retained 30% of his economic rights. However, in mid-2024, Augusto Melo, the Corinthians president at the time, secretly sold the remaining share held by the club to the Russian club to settle a debt with Elenko Sports, which manages the athlete's career and has businessman Fernando García as one of the owners.

Despite being one of the main revelations from Corinthians' youth academy, Pedrinho did not have much continuity in the professional squad, where he debuted in March 2023, and later received a bit more playing time with Vanderlei Luxemburgo. In total, he played 22 matches (mostly coming off the bench) and scored one goal.
