Corinthians' Deliberative Council meets Monday to vote on the 2025 accounts, showing a deficit of R$143.4 million and gross debt of R$2.7 billion. A dispute over recognising a federal tax settlement is central.

According to Meu Timao, the club booked effects of a transaction with the PGFN in 2025, though talks began late 2025 and the agreement was concluded in 2026.

Corinthians says PGFN approved terms in December 2025 and signing followed in early January. The club consolidated federal and social security debts, renounced previous terms and booked R$375.9 million, lifting the balance to R$1.272 billion.

PGFN then granted R$593.3 million in discounts, leaving R$678.9 million. Citing CPC 24 and CPC 25, the club recorded a net positive effect of R$217.4 million in 2025, which reduced the shortfall.

Auditor Parker Russell issued a qualification, arguing the discount should not appear in 2025. It says the effects began in February 2026, so the 31 December 2025 liability should be R$1.272 billion, implying a R$736.6 million deficit and R$3.3 billion debt.

The term says confirmation comes only after the first instalment is paid, and the first payment was in February 2026. The advisory council approved the accounts with reservations and urged a clear note for ANRESF on alternative treatments across 2025 and 2026.

Councillors may challenge the treatment on Monday. If the council rejects the filing and deems the inclusion improper, president Osmar Stabile’s administration could face claims of reckless management and possible impeachment under the Lei Geral do Esporte.
