Corinthians aim to extend historic run vs Velo Clube in Paulistão

Corinthians faces Velo Clube this Sunday (25th), for the fifth round of the Paulista Championship, in a match scheduled for 8:30 PM (Brasília time), at the Benito Agnelo Castellano Stadium, in Rio Claro. This will be only the fifth encounter between the teams.

The history between Corinthians and Velo Clube is short, with only four encounters throughout history – three in the Paulista Championship and one friendly. In total, Timão has three wins and one draw, with seven goals scored, against only one from Velo Clube.

The most recent meeting between Corinthians and Velo Clube took place on January 19, 2025, for the Paulista Championship, in a match held at the Neo Química Arena. On that occasion, Timão won 2-1, with goals from Igor Coronado and Talles Magno, both no longer with the club. The match was also marked by controversy when Romero asked to take a penalty instead of Yuri Alberto and ended up missing the shot.
