Corinthians celebrate Copa do Brasil win at Maracanã: “Unforgettable”

Corinthians won the Copa do Brasil against Vasco, inside the Maracanã, and held a celebration in the parking lot of the Neo Química Arena to celebrate with the fans. Several players spoke about the significance of the achievement, which was Timão’s fourth in history.

“Very happy, very happy, very fulfilled. We worked hard for this moment to get here. To reach a final, we managed to get there. God prepared it to be at the Maracanã, where Corinthians is already used to lifting the trophy. Me too, thank God. I’m very happy for this moment, now it’s time to enjoy it with our fans,” said Gustavo Henrique, the main defender of the campaign.

His defensive partner, André Ramalho, spoke about the different feeling of winning inside the historic stadium. “Without a doubt, there is. Of course, winning in front of our fans would have been fantastic. But the Maracanã is a temple of football and being able to win a Copa do Brasil final there is something that will be remembered forever. As an athlete, as a Brazilian, everyone dreams as a child of playing on the biggest stages in the world and the Maracanã is one of those stages. Playing there is already an honor and winning a title there is something that will be forever marked in the memory of the club, obviously, of the fans, but also in ours individually,” commented the defender.

Even with little participation, Kayke finished his first full year as a professional Corinthians player with two titles won. “I think winning a title with Corinthians is always special, right? I think it still hasn’t sunk in about yesterday’s (Sunday’s) title. A title with significance, which is the Copa do Brasil, that… Man, we just have to thank this wonderful crowd. And it’s no wonder we’re here today, right? To party and celebrate, because we really deserve this title“

Rodrigo Garro was another who spoke. The current number 8 is experiencing a year of ups and downs, with several physical problems, including a chronic knee tendon injury. Even so, he was an important part of the achievement, participating in one of the goals against Cruzeiro in the semifinal.

“I’m happy, I’m happy since I arrived. Corinthians had a very difficult year. We spent a long time in the relegation zone and today, a year and a half later, two years later, we’re celebrating our second title. I think it’s a dream, right? And we deserve it, they deserve it. Today they’re here, 50, 60 degrees, and they’re here with us, like every year. Not just now, they’ve been here all year. That’s why it’s the Fiel, right?” said the Argentine.

Another highlight was Matheus Bidu, who became the undisputed starter at left-back and, during the celebration, had his name praised by the Fiel Torcida, who called for him to be selected for the Brazilian National Team.

“Ah, thank God for having this incredible moment. Winning a title with this shirt is something inexplicable, right? I think you have to enjoy every moment, right? And make the most of it, right? (Do you dream of reaching the Brazilian National Team?) God willing. God willing, one day that day will come,” commented Bidu.
