According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have offloaded nine players at the start of the season, delivering multi-million savings. The latest is Spanish forward Héctor Hernández, who ended his deal on Tuesday to join Gil Vicente in Portugal.
They also cut ties with right-back Fagner and arranged loans. Centre-backs Félix Torres to Internacional and João Pedro to Torino in Italy, left-back Diego Palácios to Universidad Católica of Ecuador, and midfielder Ryan to Fortaleza. Contracts for Maycon, Talles Magno and Ángel Romero were not renewed.
Wages for Félix and Palácios will be shared with their loan clubs. Ryan stays on 100% Corinthians pay, part of the Matheus Pereira agreement, and his deal carries a purchase option that could bring sporting or financial upside.
Left-back Fabrizio Angileri is also unpaid by Corinthians after his contract expired around the turn of the year, with renewal talks stalling despite mutual interest. Midfielder Alex Santana and centre-back Renato train on alternate schedules while their futures are defined at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.
Reinforcements include centre-back Gabriel Paulista, midfielder Matheus Pereira and right-back Pedro Milans. Forward Kaio César is in Brazil to sign, Alisson awaits compensation to São Paulo before confirmation, and goalkeeper João Ricardo is close, expected after injury recovery, with presentation planned between March and April.
Corinthians are fourth in the Campeonato Paulista and preparing for four further tournaments this year. They open the Brasileiro against Bahia at 20:00 on Wednesday at Vila Belmiro, then face Flamengo in Brasília at 16:00 on Sunday in the Supercopa do Brasil final.
