Corinthians close Brasileirão first half with decade’s third-best campaign | OneFootball

Corinthians beat Remo 3-0 on Thursday night in the 19th round, sealing a first half that ranks as their third-best of the decade.

According to Meu Timao, the Neo Química Arena result lifted them to 27 points from 19 matches, a 47.4% return, in seventh place, with seven wins, six draws and six defeats.

Under Fernando Diniz, this is their best halfway return since 2022, when Vítor Pereira’s side collected 35 points to sit second. The other entry in that top three is 2021, with 28 points and sixth place.

The victory also moved Corinthians up six places, from 13th to seventh, and cut the gap to Red Bull Bragantino to three points. Bragantino are fifth, the first side in the 2027 Libertadores qualifying zone.

Recent first halves include 2023 with 24 points in 13th and 2025 with 22 points in 13th. Their lowest of the decade came in 2024, when they managed 19 points and finished 14th at halfway.

Corinthians visit Bahia at Arena Fonte Nova on Sunday at 16:00 in the 20th round, which opens the second half of the campaign.
