Corinthians' Deliberative Council expelled Andrés Sanchez on Monday night at Parque São Jorge, in a session chaired by council president Leonardo Pantaleão, who later outlined the status of cases involving former presidents Augusto Melo and Duilio Monteiro Alves.
According to Meu Timao, Pantaleão said both cases are following internal procedures before any vote. He noted Melo's file has not yet reached the Ethics Committee, while Duilio's was lodged earlier and is moving through the required stages, with no rush to avoid any claim of nullity.
He added the Ethics Committee should soon deliberate on Duilio's situation and, if appropriate, send it to the council for a vote.
Pantaleão intends to maintain open, named voting in every session he presides over, applying one standard to all cases.
The vote on a possible expulsion of Augusto Melo is scheduled for next Monday, the first of June, under the same rules. Duilio's case remains before the committee.
The ballot drew 167 participants, with 112 in favour, 49 against and six abstentions, confirming Sanchez's removal from the membership roll.
