Corinthians’ Conselho Deliberativo rejected the base text of proposed statute reforms on Wednesday, yet approved voting rights for Fiel Torcedor members from the 2026 board elections. The session was halted and will resume on Monday.

According to Globo.com, the base text fell by 93 votes to 60 after an open roll-call at Parque São Jorge, then councillors opted 79-57 to proceed with voting on 15 separate highlights.

On the Fiel Torcedor highlight, 79 councillors backed granting votes from 2026 to programme members who have contributed over the past four years, with no extra fee for that election. From subsequent elections, all requirements will apply, including a fee. Nine voted to start in 2030 and two opposed any voting right, with totals lower as many, particularly life members, left after the first ballot.

After two highlights were decided, acting chair Leonardo Pantaleão suspended proceedings to next week. Any statute changes still require a general assembly, not yet scheduled, and the current rules demand reforms be completed up to six months before the elections.

The night began with disagreement involving Felipe Ezabella and the council’s licensed president, Romeu Tuma Júnior, and there was dispute over whether to keep voting highlights after the base text fell. Rubens Gomes, Alexandre Husni and Jorge Kalil opposed continuing, while organised supporters in the theatre protested against life members.

Pantaleão later said his view was that only council-approved items should go to the members, a point to be settled when the meeting resumes, and argued highlights can be added to the current statute. Two highlights were voted, including one on forming a corporate entity, which did not concern conversion to a SAF.
