On Tuesday, Corinthians were again awarded Gold in the Federação Paulista de Futebol’s Programme of Excellence. According to Meu Timao, the ceremony marked the initiative’s 10th edition.

The club were represented by Ricardo Torrado, a GRC analyst in the legal department, and Marco Polo Lopes Pinheiro, director of terrestrial sports, who collected the award.

The programme evaluates affiliated clubs across youth development, men’s and women’s professional football, discipline, communication, marketing, governance, education, environment and innovation, benchmarking progress against their own previous results.

This edition raised the bar, expanding the assessed criteria and applying a stricter scale, which demanded clear advances in professionalisation and administrative processes.

The FPF disbursed R$ 1,020,000 to 12 affiliated clubs, with Bronze worth R$ 30,000 and Silver R$ 60,000, and Gold R$ 120,000.

Gold: Corinthians, Ferroviária, Palmeiras, Red Bull Bragantino, Santos and São Paulo. Silver: Audax, Botafogo, Guarani and São Bento. Bronze: Ituano and Portuguesa.

Since 2016, the programme has allocated more than R$ 10 million. Corinthians had also taken Gold in recent years, though the previous five editions paid R$ 80,000 to top-tier clubs.

FPF vice-president Mauro Silva said the project aims to strengthen clubs off the pitch, noting that sound management sustains the game and that collaboration with clubs helps grow football in São Paulo.
