Corinthians expelled three councillors on Monday night after the Conselho Deliberativo voted at Parque São Jorge to remove Maria Angela, Paulo Juricic and Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé.

According to Globo.com, the ballots returned 111-23 for the expulsion of Maria Angela, 88-22 for Paulo Juricic and 64-24 for Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé.

Mario Mello Junior, who was also due to be judged, fell ill before the session began and was taken urgently to the club’s on-site medical room.

The meeting will be resumed on a later date to conclude Mario Mello Junior’s case.

The councillors had taken part in the invasion of the presidency floor on 31 May 2025 during an attempt to return Augusto Melo to the presidency.

That day, the former president tried to reassume the role with allies, supported by a decision from Maria Angela de Sousa Ocampos, who claimed she had taken control of the Conselho Deliberativo and annulled the impeachment vote that removed him.

Allies of president Osmar Stabile, who replaced Augusto Melo, consider it an attempted coup. About 50 people were in the president’s office, and security cameras identified both councillors and other members among those involved.
