According to Meu Timao, 90.3% of Corinthians fans support a contract extension for Zakaria Labyad beyond this year. A further 9.7% opposed keeping the Moroccan playmaker for next season.
His current deal runs until 31 December this year. The agreement could renew automatically if he meets pre-set targets, keeping him under contract until the end of next season.
The 33-year-old joined in February 2026 after leaving Dalian Yingbo in China, with no transfer fee. A close relationship with Memphis Depay, a former PSV youth team-mate in the Netherlands, helped the move.
He made his debut on 11 March in a 2-0 defeat to Coritiba in the Brasileiro. Coming off the bench in the second half at Neo Química Arena, he was used sparingly by then coach Dorival Júnior.
Since Fernando Diniz arrived, Labyad has featured more regularly. He has 14 appearances, only one start, with seven wins, two draws and five defeats in that span, plus one goal and two assists.
During the interseason he has been tested with the starters in training in the place of Garro. The number eight is suspended for the Remo match on 23 July and will miss out, although the line-up is still to be decided in the coming weeks.
Before that, Corinthians visit Cascavel on Sunday 12 July at 16:00 in Paraná for a friendly in the interseason.
