Corinthians have given police internal CCTV from the Neo Química Arena showing the post-match altercation with Palmeiras players and staff after Sunday’s Brasileirão derby.
ge reports police have identified the female fan who filmed footage linked to an alleged racist abuse case involving Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel.
Members of both delegations clashed in the stadium tunnel immediately after full time. Palmeiras alleged forward Luighi was assaulted by Corinthians goalkeeping coach Luiz Fernando dos Santos, and a police report was filed.
Corinthians said in a statement that defender Gabriel Paulista and midfielder Breno Bidon were assaulted by Palmeiras security, though the club did not pursue those claims.
Referee Flávio Rodrigues de Souza set out the events in his match report, citing delegate Rogério Menezes Lopes. It stated a Corinthians security guard pushed Luighi as anti-doping staff tried to reach the testing room with him, sparking the melee, which was contained by Anderson Barros and Corinthians coach Fernando Diniz. The referee added he did not witness assaults on players from either side.
The case is with the STJD, where Corinthians, Palmeiras and four Corinthians players have been charged. The hosts could lose up to 10 home matches if punished.
Drade is also investigating the alleged racist abuse of Carlos Miguel. A fan’s video, filmed as the goalkeeper prevents a Yuri Alberto goal, records another person calling him “macaco”. The footage does not show who shouted, only the word is audible, and police plan to question her to establish the author of the insult.
