Corinthians hit with fourth transfer ban in two months after Midtjylland non-payment | OneFootball

Corinthians have been hit with a fourth transfer ban in two months, the latest imposed on Tuesday over an unpaid instalment to Midtjylland for Charles. According to ge, the club owes R$23 million linked to such bans.

The deal for Charles was agreed in July 2024 under Augusto Melo, set at €1.6 million in three instalments. The first two were paid, the third, €800,000 due on 15 March 2025, was missed.

The contract included a €200,000 late penalty on any instalment. Midtjylland took the case to Fifa and won a ruling in October 2025. Corinthians appealed but were rejected in May this year, clearing the path for the latest ban.

It is the fourth sanction of this kind in a short span. Fifa had already punished the club over delayed payments relating to José Martínez and Talles Magno, and for failing to pay the fifth instalment of an agreement at the CNRD.

For supporters, fresh debts, claims and sanctions have become a grim routine. The club remains obliged to settle the amounts specified in the rulings.
