Corinthians latest: Memphis renewal talks, forward could return, midfielder punished | OneFootball

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have begun talks to secure partners who could help fund a new deal for Memphis Depay. The club may also have forward Kaio César back for the Copa Libertadores, and have punished André Luiz following his derby dismissal.

They host Independiente Santa Fe on Wednesday at Neo Química Arena in the second round of Group E at 21:30, aiming to defend a strong home record in the competition.

André Luiz was sanctioned after making an obscene gesture that led to his first-half red card against Palmeiras.

Corinthians completed their final training session on Tuesday. Former goalkeeper Julio Cesar, appointed football manager on Monday, observed the work as he began his new role.

Memphis Depay has suffered a setback in his grade two right thigh injury after an error in the club’s fitness recovery process, delaying his return.
