Corinthians lose unbeaten home run against Ceará in the Brasileirão

On the afternoon of this Sunday (9), Corinthians hosted Ceará at the Neo Química Arena in a match valid for the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship, and was defeated 1-0, with the goal scored in the first half. With this result, the Alvinegro now ranks only 13th with 42 points (11 wins, nine draws, and 13 losses – 35 goals scored and 38 conceded).

Besides the defeat, the club from Parque São Jorge saw a historic taboo being broken. This is because Ceará defeated the Corinthians team as visitors in the Brazilian Championship for the first time in history. Previously, there were 10 matches between the teams in the state of São Paulo for the tournament, with six wins and four draws.

Additionally, Corinthians had not lost to Ceará in four games, with three wins and one draw (all in the Brasileirão – 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022). The last defeat was in the return match of the third phase of the 2019 Copa do Brasil, by 1-0 (Alvinegro qualified, as they had won the first leg by 3-1).

In matches at the Neo Química Arena, inaugurated in 2014, there have been seven games, with three wins for Corinthians, two draws, and two wins for Ceará – nine goals scored and seven conceded). In the historical record, at this moment, there are: 15 wins for Corinthians, nine draws, and seven losses – 41 goals scored and 27 conceded.

Now, Corinthians prepares for the team's next commitment, which will only be after the FIFA Date. On November 20, at 7 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians will host São Paulo at the Neo Química Arena for the 34th round of the Brasileirão.
