Corinthians midfielder named among top under-21s, study finds

Last Friday, the 10th, the CIES Football Observatory (International Centre for Sports Studies Football Observatory) released a ranking of the best-evaluated performances of under-21 players over the past year. The list includes only players from the Brasileirão and Argentine Championship, with Breno Bidon representing Corinthians.

The player, who emerged from Timão's youth categories, appears in second place overall on the list, only behind Vitor Roque, a forward from Palmeiras. He also shares the same score as Elías Báez, an Argentine who plays for San Lorenzo-ARG – see the complete list below.

The list also includes other names from Brazilian football, such as Rayan (Vasco da Gama) and Álvaro Montoro (Botafogo-RJ), but both rank below Breno Bidon. The Corinthians player's score is 79.1, while the other two have 78.8 and 77.0, respectively. The ranking leader, Vitor Roque, has 79.8.

Breno Bidon has been Corinthians' main midfielder in recent weeks, due to injuries to Rodrigo Garro and André Carrillo. At 20 years old, he has a contract signed until 2029, with a release clause set at 120 million euros, equivalent to R$ 650 million at the current exchange rate.
