Corinthians on their longest unbeaten run since mid-2025

On the night of last Wednesday (25), Corinthians faced Cruzeiro at the Mineirão Stadium, in a match valid for the fourth round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship, and drew 1-1. Defender João Pedro Tchoca, in the final stretch of the second half, scored the goal for the Alvinegro. With this result, the Corinthians team moved up to third place in the tournament with seven points – two wins, one draw, and one loss – five goals scored and three conceded.

In addition to the important point earned away from home, Corinthians reached five games unbeaten in the 2026 season and matched their longest unbeaten streak since mid-August and September 2025. This year, the club from Parque São Jorge started their positive run against Red Bull Bragantino, in the Brasileirão, in Itaquera, winning 2-0.

Next, they beat São Bernardo FC and Athletico-PR away from home, both by a score of 1-0, in the Paulistão (final stretch of the first phase) and Brazilian Championship (second round), respectively. Finally, they come from two consecutive 1-1 draws. The first was against Portuguesa, in the state quarterfinals, where Alvinegro ended up winning on penalties 8-7, with Hugo Souza saving two spot kicks.

The second, in turn, happened precisely against Cruzeiro, last night, in the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship. In the August/September 2025 streak, the club from Parque São Jorge beat Vasco da Gama away from home, 3-2, at São Januário, in the second round of the Brasileirão. Right after, they beat Athletico-PR at Arena da Baixada by the minimum score, in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals.

Afterwards, they hosted Palmeiras at Neo Química Arena, in the second round of the national tournament, and drew 1-1. Days later, they beat Athletico-PR again, this time in Itaquera, by a score of 2-0, in the return leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals. And finally, they went to Maracanã to face Fluminense, in the Brasileirão, and won 1-0. Last year, the streak ended in the following match with a 1-0 defeat to Sport, at Ilha do Retiro.

After securing the draw against Cruzeiro at Mineirão, for the fourth round of the Brasileirão, Corinthians now shifts its focus to the Paulista Championship. Next Saturday (28), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), Alvinegro faces Novorizontino at Estádio Jorge Ismael de Biasi, in the state semifinal. A draw takes the decision to penalties.
