Corinthians pair selected in February team of the month | OneFootball

Corinthians duo João Pedro Tchoca and Matheuzinho were named in February’s team of the month after standout displays. According to Meu Timao, the selection was compiled by Sofascore.

Tchoca earned a 7.83 rating and Matheuzinho 7.78, while Remo forward Alef Manga led the list with 7.84.

Corinthians played nine matches in the month. Tchoca featured in three, scoring an equaliser against Cruzeiro at the Mineirão in the Campeonato Brasileiro. A proposed move to Torino collapsed after he failed a medical, after which he was reintegrated by Dorival Júnior.

The centre-back, wearing number four, completed 94% of his passes and 80% of his long balls. He also made six tackles, five interceptions and five blocks, with seven recoveries.

Right-back Matheuzinho played seven times and supplied an assist against Portuguesa in the Campeonato Paulista quarter-final at Canindé. Since October last year he ranks 10th for minutes played among non-European clubs.

The number two added five key passes that led to shots, plus 11 tackles, eight interceptions and 16 recoveries, with 56% duel success. Corinthians host Coritiba at the Neo Química Arena next Wednesday at 21:30 in the fifth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
