Corinthians pay more than R$ 1.2 million in STJD fines after Paulista punishment | OneFootball

Corinthians completed the second and final game of their STJD punishment, converted from a behind-closed-doors sanction into fines, transferring R$ 1,237,638.36 from the opening two Paulista gates to the tribunal.

According to Meu Timao, the case stems from fans using and throwing flares and fireworks during the 2025 state final against Palmeiras. The club won an appeal at the STJD in early January, replacing closed doors with financial penalties for the first two fixtures.

For the win against Ponte Preta, the agreement set a 30% levy on gross revenue. From R$ 2,482,182.90 raised in the 3-0 victory, R$ 744,654.87 was paid as a fine, leaving R$ 762,937.12 after operating costs.

The Majestoso draw with São Paulo carried a 15% deduction. From R$ 3,286,556.60 in gross receipts, R$ 492,983.49 went to the STJD, and Corinthians cleared R$ 1,617,208.72 after expenses.

Corinthians return to the Neo Química Arena on 5 February to host Capivariano in the Paulista. They also have a home date against Bahia on 28 February, the Brasileirão opener, to be staged at Vila Belmiro in Santos.

The club refinanced stadium debt with Caixa in 2022, paying only taxes and interest in 2023 and 2024. Since January 2025, quarterly instalments between R$ 20 million and R$ 30 million are due until December 2041, with R$ 96 million paid in 2025 and total liabilities estimated at R$ 650 million.

Part of arena revenues, including ticketing, title prize money and portions of player sales, can be retained by Caixa to maintain a security reserve. That fund is set to cover at least one year of payments, between R$ 80 million and R$ 120 million.
