Corinthians president Osmar Stabile has admitted it is difficult to keep any player who wants to depart if the club receive an offer they deem right.

"If a good offer arrives and the player does not want to stay, there is no way to hold him. If a proposal meets Corinthians' needs and he wants to leave, how do you keep him?" he told ge.globo.

On Thursday, striker Yuri Alberto said he intends to leave in the mid-year window. He plans talks with his agent André Cury and the board during the World Cup break to find the best way forward.

Yuri has drawn sustained interest since last season, with bids from Roma, Lazio and Fenerbahçe rejected. Roma made the largest proposal, about R$ 190 million for 100% of his economic rights.

Corinthians own 50% of the player, with Zenit holding the remainder. Cury has participation clauses, and the club will only sell in 2026 if they receive at least 20 million euros net for their share, while Yuri’s deal runs to 22 July 2030.

The club carry debt near R$ three billion and have targeted R$ 151 million from player sales in the 2026 budget. Other players attracting interest include goalkeeper Hugo Souza, right-back Matheuzinho, midfielders Breno Bidon and André Luiz, and forward Gui Negão, with Europe’s main windows opening on 15 June.
