Corinthians pull clear at top after Majestoso win in Brasileirão Feminino

Corinthians pulled clear at the top of the Brazilian Women's Championship after a 2-1 Majestoso win over São Paulo at Parque São Jorge on Monday. The result leaves them on 25 points after 10 rounds.
According to Meu Timao, only the top eight advance to the quarter-finals, the best overall record secures home advantage in the knockouts, and points from the regular phase continue to count during the knockouts for hosting and bracket purposes.
The game paired the leaders with the then runners-up, and victory stretched Corinthians' cushion over São Paulo to five points. Palmeiras climbed to second on 21 after a 4-1 win against Atlético-MG, with São Paulo third on 20. Internacional sit fourth on 20 after beating Botafogo 1-0 at home, trailing on goals scored.
Bahia and Cruzeiro share fifth on 17. Bahia drew 1-1 away to Mixto, while Cruzeiro thrashed América-MG 4-0 in the state derby.
Flamengo and Ferroviária complete the G8 on 16 after a 1-1 draw in Rio, which would currently pair Corinthians with Ferroviária in the quarter-finals.
Below the line, Red Bull Bragantino are ninth and Santos 10th, both on 14, followed by Grêmio 13, Atlético-MG nine, Juventude eight, Mixto seven and Botafogo five. In the relegation places are América-MG with three and Vitória with two.
Corinthians visit Cruzeiro next Monday at 21:00 in the league. Before that they face Red Bull Bragantino in Rio Claro on Thursday in the Paulista at 17:30.
