Corinthians beat Peñarol 2-0 on Thursday in the Copa Libertadores, completing a third straight home win for the first time in five months. As reported by Meu Timao, the result underlines an uptick at the Neo Química Arena.
The run began on 15 April with a 2-0 victory over Independiente Santa Fe in the continental competition. It continued last Sunday with a 1-0 win against Vasco da Gama in the Brasileiro.
The previous three-game home streak came between October and November 2025. Corinthians beat Mirassol 3-0, edged Atlético Mineiro 1-0, then finished by defeating Grêmio 2-0.
That sequence ended with a 1-0 defeat to Ceará in Itaquera. The side did not manage another home streak until the arrival of Fernando Diniz.
The latest result keeps Timão top of Group E with a perfect return, three wins from three for nine points. Platense sit on six, with Peñarol and Santa Fe on one apiece.
Next up is Mirassol away in the Brasileiro on Sunday at Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia, kick-off 20:30, in the 14th round.
