Corinthians have formally registered the minutes of the 23 March meeting that voted to remove Romeu Tuma Júnior as president of the club’s Deliberative Council.

The club said in a statement that the minutes were filed at the first Registry of Titles and Documents in São Paulo on 13 April 2026, confirming compliance with its statutes.

The meeting drew broad participation and ended with a clear majority, 115 in favour and 15 against the removal.

Registering the minutes could allow the provisional removal on 23 March to be validated in court, which could also nullify decisions the former council president made up to the point he requested leave.

A notarial record of the gathering described a heated atmosphere and disagreements, and raised questions over the handling of the statute reform and the role of officials during the vote.

Such a record is an official document prepared by a notary that faithfully logs events or documents, and once issued carries public faith under law.

Weeks later, a court suspended the General Assembly that was to consider the statute reform, deepening the internal political crisis. Amid that, Romeu Tuma Júnior took a leave of absence, citing internal disputes and disagreements with the board.

On Tuesday, acting council president Leonardo Pantaleão set 29 April for a new vote on the reform, to be held at the Teatro do Parque São Jorge.
