Corinthians set sights on Arthur Melo, Under-17 derby win and Fazendinha report urges West Stand demolition

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have begun activity in the transfer market and identified Arthur Melo, 29 and under contract with Juventus, as their first target.

On Tuesday, their Under-17s beat Palmeiras 3-1 at Estádio Alfredo Schürig, the Fazendinha, in the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17.

In June 2026 the club hired a civil engineer to conduct a technical inspection at Estádio Alfredo Schürig as part of the process to authorise the ground to host matches.

The report, produced by engineer Osmar Meireles dos Santos and posted on the Federação Paulista de Futebol website, assessed engineering, accessibility and comfort conditions.

Although used within the paperwork for a partial clearance of the venue, its standout recommendation was the total demolition of the West Stand.
