Corinthians settle overdue image-rights payments, still facing three transfer bans | OneFootball

Corinthians have settled overdue image-rights payments to the men's first-team squad, with arrears dating back to 20 June.

According to Meu Timao, the arrears were settled on Monday amid a delicate financial situation. The administration led by president Osmar Stabile is prioritising commitments to players before other obligations.

The plan includes paying the July instalment next week, despite it falling due on 20 July. Image rights account for most of the players' remuneration.

Payment delays have become routine. In May, the club settled April's payroll about eight days late. In June, the payment for May was made roughly 20 days after the due date.

The club are under three transfer bans and cannot register new players. The most recent arrived on Saturday after failure to pay the fifth quarterly instalment at the CNRD of the CBF, estimated at R$ 8 million.

The other two were imposed by FIFA. One, published on 21 May, stems from late payment to Philadelphia Union for the signing of José Martínez, a debt of about R$ 7.7 million. The remaining ban relates to non-payment of a 225,000 dollar fine, around R$ 1.16 million, tied to rulings over sums owed to Philadelphia Union, Midtjylland for Charles, and New York City FC for the loan of Talles Magno.
