Corinthians returned to training on Wednesday following a two-day break, with head coach Dorival Júnior taking the opportunity to integrate academy talents into the first-team session at CT Joaquim Grava. Eight players from the youth divisions joined senior training, including goalkeepers Cadu and Pietro, defender Gama, midfielders Bahia and Dieguinho, and attackers Gui Negão and Nicollas. Their involvement, while not constituting a call-up to the first team, underscores the coaching staff’s focus on monitoring promising prospects within the club’s youth system.
On the pitch, technical staff organized possession drills and small-sided games, before separating players for position-specific exercises. This week marks the first uninterrupted stretch of training time available to Dorival since his arrival, coming on the heels of a goalless draw against Vitória last weekend.
Central defender Cacá participated in Wednesday’s session as usual, despite experiencing a robbery earlier that morning in Tatuapé, São Paulo.
In squad health updates, defender Gustavo Henrique reached a new phase in his recovery from inguinal hernia surgery performed in early May. Absent so far from this season’s league campaign, he began transitioning from the medical department to on-pitch activity and is expected to incrementally rejoin group training as his rehabilitation progresses.
Corinthians’ next competitive outing is an away fixture against Grêmio on June 12. That will be followed by a period of inactivity, as domestic matches are paused for the Club World Cup between June 13 and July 14—a window that could prove important for further squad recoveries.
