Corinthians were beaten 2-0 by Coritiba at Neo Química Arena on Wednesday night, a fifth-round result that dropped them five places to eighth.
According to Meu Timao, they began the day third on seven points, behind only São Paulo and Palmeiras. The loss left them eighth, overtaken by Athletico-PR, Fluminense, Flamengo, Coritiba and Bahia.
With more fixtures to come on Thursday, Corinthians could slip further depending on other results. Grêmio face Red Bull Bragantino, ninth and 10th respectively, so at least one will move above them.
The defeat was Dorival Júnior’s second of the 2026 league campaign, both as hosts, although the January opener against Bahia was played at Vila Belmiro. Their record stands at two wins, one draw and two defeats.
Aiming to end a four-match winless run, Corinthians visit Santos on Sunday at 16:00 in the sixth round.
