Corinthians have submitted a sponsor-free extension to Memphis Depay, to be paid entirely by the club. It includes a salary cut and a revised pay model.

UOL Esporte reports that the offer has been formalised and delivered to the forward's representatives.

They plan to use headroom from departures in the next window to cover wages not budgeted for the second half.

A sale of striker Yuri Alberto is seen as ideal. Offers are also expected for midfielders André and Breno Bidon, with an internal expectation that at least one of the trio could depart, depending on price.

This is a shift from recent public claims by president Osmar Stabile and others that any renewal hinged on new sponsors. After an internal review and Memphis signalling a pay cut, the board believes the bill can absorb it.

Gaviões da Fiel said after meeting Memphis that he wants to stay at Parque São Jorge, accept revised terms and help seek partners. He has since hired a marketing professional to assist Corinthians with potential sponsors.

Corinthians will monitor Memphis with the Netherlands at the World Cup over the next six weeks in the United States, Canada and Mexico. No deadline has been set for a reply, and he will rejoin the club after the tournament.

Memphis joined on a free in September 2024, has 79 games, 20 goals and 15 assists, and has won the 2025 Copa do Brasil, the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and the 2026 Supercopa. His deal ends on 31 July.
