Corinthians to be without seven for FC Cascavel friendly | OneFootball

Corinthians visit FC Cascavel at the Estádio Olímpico Regional in Cascavel on Sunday at 16:00. It is their only warm-up during the World Cup break, and they will be without seven players.

Ge.globo reports centre-back Gustavo Henrique did not make the trip to Paraná after missing late-week sessions with hip flexor discomfort. João Pedro Tchoca, though cleared following inguinal hernia surgery, was also rested.

Iago Machado, 17, who has trained with the first team, is with the Seleção Brasileira Sub-17. Left-back Hugo Farias remains in the final stage of recovery from a right lateral meniscus injury.

Up front, there are three further absences. Memphis Depay has been granted a holiday after the Netherlands’ World Cup exit and continues talks over a renewal. His deal ends on 31 July.

If no agreement is reached, he is not expected to return to the club.

Kayke remains sidelined after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is due back next season. Vitinho is still recovering from right hip pain and a hamstring tendon injury.

After the friendly, Corinthians return to competitive action on 23 July, hosting Remo at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The club from Parque São Jorge sit 10th with 24 points and aim to close on the leading pack in the second half.
