Corinthians will discover their Copa do Brasil fifth-phase opponent on Monday 23 March at 14:00, with the draw at CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and broadcast on CBF TV on YouTube. According to Meu Timao, these details have been set for the 2026 edition.
If the draw follows recent seasons, Corinthians will be in one pot with other Brasileirão clubs and national or regional title holders such as the Copa do Nordeste and Copa Verde winners. The other pot will contain sides progressing from earlier rounds. The fourth phase is due to finish on Thursday.
Now in its 38th edition, the competition has expanded from 92 to 126 entrants and from 122 to 155 matches, and the format has been rebuilt from seven to nine phases. Previously, Corinthians entered at the fourth phase if they were in the Copa Libertadores.
Reaching the fifth phase guarantees the club R$ 2 million. Prize money then rises to R$ 3 million in the last 16 and R$ 4 million in the quarter-finals, with R$ 9 million for each semi-finalist.
In the final, the runners-up receive R$ 34 million and a place in the Copa Libertadores preliminary rounds. The champions take R$ 78 million and direct entry to the group stage.
Corinthians are defending the title and seeking their first consecutive triumph in the competition. In 2025 they knocked out Grêmio Novorizontino, Palmeiras, Athletico-PR, Cruzeiro and Vasco da Gama.
