Corinthians ‘to pay’ July and October CNRD instalments together, Cuiabá oppose | OneFootball

Corinthians have asked to settle the overdue July and October CNRD instalments together by 31 August, seeking to have a new transfer ban lifted after the sanction was imposed on Saturday.

According to ge.globo, the club told the chamber on Thursday 16 that it could not meet the fifth instalment due on 17 July, estimated at R$8 million, citing a cash squeeze that has also delayed image-rights payments and triggered earlier registration bans.

The proposal asked to clear the 17 July and 17 October bills in one go by 31 August, and for any ban to be revoked once the joint payment is made within that deadline.

The CNRD rejected the plea, blocking player registrations for the next six months unless the debts are settled. The transfer window opened on Monday and closes on 11 September.

The CNRD pact covers debts to clubs, intermediaries and players of about R$76 million, with quarterly payments. Four instalments have been made, totalling roughly R$28 million. The club also missed the first two payments in 2025 and was sanctioned then.

Cuiabá, owed a little over R$18 million and the largest creditor, filed to oppose Corinthians’ request and pressed for the ban to stand, citing a pattern of delays. President Cristiano Dresch said he cannot cover the squad’s image rights without the expected funds.

This is Corinthians’ third transfer ban in roughly two months. FIFA also imposed a three-window block on 21 May over late payment to the Philadelphia Union for José Martínez, around R$7.7 million, and on 13 July fined the club 225,000 dollars, about R$1.158 million, for non-compliance in cases involving Philadelphia, Charles of Midtjylland and Talles Magno’s 2025 loan from New York City FC.
