Corinthians have lodged a fresh complaint with FPF vice-president Mauro Silva over 2026 Campeonato Paulista officiating and are urging the professionalisation of top-flight refereeing. According to Meu Timao, the move follows two successive matches marked by errors.
The complaints centre on the 1-1 draw with Santos and the 1-0 win over Velo Clube in rounds four and five.
With the first phase reduced to only eight decisive games for both knockout qualification and relegation, the club argue there is no margin for officiating mistakes that could influence teams’ futures.
Last Friday, Corinthians contacted the FPF about decisions in the clássico at Vila Belmiro. President Osmar Stabile spoke with federation chief Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos. Days later, referee Lucas Canetto Bellote was removed after the body judged as erroneous his decision to award a foul by Gustavo Henrique on Lautaro Díaz on the edge of the box, a phase of play that preceded Gabriel Barbosa’s equaliser.
On Monday, the club also criticised Flávio Rodrigues Marques’s display at Estádio Benito Agnelo Castellano in Rio Claro against Velo Clube. They cited inconsistent foul criteria, a penalty not given for André Ramalho after an alleged elbow by Betão at 25 minutes of the first half, and the lack of a red card for Ynaiã following a stamp on Vitinho’s knee.
Corinthians will gauge any change on 5 February when they host Capivariano at Neo Química Arena at 20:30 in round six. Before then, they face Bahia on Thursday at Vila Belmiro at 20:00 in their Campeonato Brasileiro opener, then Flamengo on Sunday at 16:00 in the Supercopa do Brasil at Mané Garrincha.
