Corinthians vs Palmeiras Derby hearing in Paulistão postponed by TJD-SP

The São Paulo Sports Justice Tribunal (TJD-SP) postponed, this Tuesday (24), the trial regarding the incidents that occurred during the Derby between Corinthians and Palmeiras at Neo Química Arena, held on February 8th (Sunday), in a match valid for the seventh round of the first phase of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista. The session was scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (Brasília time) today and has been postponed.

The information was initially reported by ge.globo. Both teams will answer for the confusion that happened after the goal scored by Argentine striker Flaco López, near the end of the second half, which secured the rival’s victory. Corinthians ended up being charged under articles 257, § 3º and 213 of the CBJD, III, while the archrival was framed under articles 257, § 3º, and 191, III.

Abel Ferreira, the rival’s coach, was reported after complaints directed at the refereeing, allegedly with ironic applause after receiving a yellow card. The coach’s conduct fell under article 258 § 2º, II of the CBJD. The expected punishment ranges from one to six matches. The referee for the match, it’s worth noting, was Raphael Claus.

Another member of the Palmeiras team reported was striker Luighi, who, after Palmeiras’ goal, hit a Corinthians fan in the south sector with a ball after kicking one of the balls that were stopped on the end line next to Hugo Souza’s goal. The youngster ended up being charged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Midfielder Andreas Pereira, on the other hand, was not reported, even after damaging the penalty mark, which would later be missed by striker Memphis Depay midway through the first half, when the derby was still tied at zero. Regarding Corinthians, ball boy Alessandro da Silva, according to Raphael Claus’s match report, allegedly assaulted the rival’s striker, Ramón Sosa, with a kick during the confusion after the goal scored by Alviverde.
