According to Globo.com, Corinthians have secured a suspensive effect allowing goalkeeper Hugo Souza to face Vitória in the 12th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro at Barradão in Salvador on Saturday.
Hugo received a two-match ban from the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva after an interview in which he criticised the officiating of the derby with Palmeiras, alleging referee Flávio Rodrigues de Souza favoured one side.
After the decision by the Third Disciplinary Commission, Corinthians appealed to the STJD for the measure, which was granted. The goalkeeper travelled with the squad to Salvador.
In Friday’s hearing in Rio de Janeiro, right-back Matheuzinho was suspended for four matches for punching an opponent, and midfielder André for one match for an obscene gesture, both following red cards in the derby.
The club were fined R$ 2,000 for delaying the restart, R$ 10,000 for a drone and kite line entering the ground, and R$ 20,000 for post-match disorder. They also lost one home match and were fined R$ 80,000 over racist abuse directed at goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, taking the total to R$ 112,000.
Breno Bidon and goalkeeping coach Luiz Fernando dos Santos were acquitted unanimously.
