In the past few days, Xavi Hernandez has been linked to the AC Milan job, even if the club are not considering a move away from the Paulo Fonseca.
At present, there are no suggestions that Milan are truly looking to move away from Fonseca, with reports suggesting that there is a ‘calmness’ around the Rossoneri currently. In fact, instead of replacing the coach, the management want to strengthen him and his team.
This could all change in the next few days, though. Should the Diavolo fail to get three points against Hellas Verona tomorrow evening then it could see his position come under fire, with some reports suggesting that he is back in a ‘danger zone’.
One of the coaches that has been linked to the post has been Xavi and after winning a La Liga title with Barcelona in difficult conditions, it is possible that he may be an option for the club, considering he is ‘a fan of Milan and Rafel Leao’. However, they would have to wait before making a move, according to Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News).
According to the report, a move would only be able to be made next season, with a move this season ‘not viable’ for the club, which could dictate how things proceed with the Portuguese head coach.
