The prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah playing together has edged closer, with Okaz reporting that Al-Nassr boss Jorge Jesus has approved a summer push for the Liverpool star.
Salah has said he will leave Anfield at the end of 2025-26, opening the door to a free transfer, and Al-Nassr are among the leading contenders.
Any deal is understood to hinge on internal stability, with talks ongoing over Jesus’ contract extension that would underpin the club’s summer plans.
There are questions over how Salah would dovetail with Ronaldo, yet the sporting impact and commercial pull are clear. Salah is widely viewed as a cultural ambassador for the region, making him a coveted target for the Saudi Public Investment Fund.
Former professional Paul-Jose M’Poku has suggested Salah will probably head to Saudi Arabia, not necessarily to Al-Nassr, and added that possible ownership changes could influence spending.
A recent hamstring issue appears to have ended Salah’s season early, but he has still delivered 12 goals and nine assists in 38 appearances across competitions.
Other Saudi Pro League sides are monitoring developments, and the final decision will rest with the player. Ronaldo is contracted to Al-Nassr through 2027, and if the managerial situation is resolved, a Salah-Ronaldo pairing could soon be on the table.
