Benfica’s push to sign Wesley is becoming increasingly complicated this window, 365Scores reports. The Al Nassr winger, a team-mate of Cristiano Ronaldo, is the subject of rejected bids.

The Saudi club have turned down all offers to date. A six-month loan within the domestic league is on the table, with the club ready to cover 40% of his wages.

Jorge Jesus is not a big admirer of Wesley’s profile. Even so, Sadio Mané’s absence at the Africa Cup of Nations is complicating any exit, so Al Nassr are keeping attacking cover.

The situation leaves limited room to sanction a departure in this window. Benfica are already studying alternatives.

André Luiz of Rio Ave has emerged as a strong option and is very close to joining. Rui Costa is moving quickly on contingency plans if Wesley ultimately does not arrive.

This season Wesley, valued at five million euros, has played 15 matches for Al Nassr. That is six in the Saudi League, five in the AFC Champions League Two, two in the Super Cup and two in the King’s Cup. Across 948 minutes, he has scored four goals and provided one assist.
